As we approach my personal favorite season, we get blessed with another season of anime. The fall anime 2022 season is pretty loaded, but here are the ones I’m keeping an eye on this time. As per usual, no particular order here.
Sequels
Mob Psycho III

Mob Psycho is funny as hell and has a fun cast of characters. If you watched the first two seasons, you know what you’re in for. I, for one, am excited as hell.
Spy x Family, Part 2

When I saw season 1 on the lineup, I figured it’d be interesting but nothing special. But, oh man, this series was one of my favorites from the spring season (despite the fact that I misjudged it, so it didn’t make the list. Man, was I wrong). It shouldn’t come as a surprise that I’m looking forward to part 2.
Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai Double (or W?, whatever)

Funnily enough, the first season was on my watchlist for a while. It was the announcement of season 2 that made me watch it, and I’m glad I did. I hope this season is as cute and funny as the first season was. That damn cat though…
New Series
Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute!

Seems really cool and unique for an isekai. I really like the art style and darker aesthetic. I hope it pans out well.
Urusei Yatsura

While they seem to just be doing a reboot, I never actually watched the original. I’m intrigued by the series (given that people said the original was really good), so I’ll probably check it out.
Koukyuu no Karasu

This one seems like it could be super interesting. I’m getting some shoujo or josei vibes, but the plot synopsis just sounds too interesting to ignore. Going to take a look at this one.
Noumin Kanren no Skill bakka Agetetara Nazeka Tsuyoku Natta.

The theme of a nobody (common farmer, in this case) becoming OP isn’t particularly uncommon now, but still a genre I find fun. Guess you could say I like anime with really long titles… How good this farm-simulator-meets-isekai is will depend on the execution.
Yuusha Party wo Tsuihou sareta Beast Tamer, Saikyoushu no Nekomimi Shoujo to Deau

Another common trope with a guy being kicked out of the hero party, but he was the linchpin. Like the previous entry here, depends on execution, but I’m going to see how it is. And, I might be a sucker for catgirls…
Movies
Yep, new category. Woo. These piqued my interest enough that I thought it deserved a section.
Kagami no Kojou

This movie seems like it’s going to get emotional. There’s also something kind of unsettling about it… From the synopsis and the trailers, it seems like it’ll be really interesting, though, so I’m excited to watch it.
Boku ga Aishita Subete no Kimi e

This and the movie below this one seem to be related in some way, which is kind of neat in a series that talks about parallel worlds. While it looks like it’ll be another romantic movie, I suspect there’ll be some drama too.
Kimi wo Aishita Hitori no Boku e

Like the movie above this entry, parallel worlds and romantic tones. This one seems to be more emotionally fraught, but I’d be interested to see how it ends. For both of these movies, I really hope we have a happy end. I don’t mind emotional turmoil if it ends positively, you know?
Honorable Mentions
Tensei Shitara Ken Deshita – Looks like some neat action, but I’m not really sold on isekai where someone is reincarnated as an inanimate object. The action could be cool.
Shinobi no Ittoki – Not sure what to make of this one. Ninjas are fun, but that alone isn’t enough. Overall, could be good, could be mediocre. Only time will tell.
Akuyaku Reijou nanode Last Boss wo Kattemimashita – I’m curious about this shoujo series more so than looking to watch it. I read the manga, it was cute, very shoujo. The thing is, though, it was like 13 chapters. The light novel seems to be longer, so we’ll see.
Fuufu Ijou, Koibito Miman. – I can see some romantic drama coming down the road on this one. Not sure how I feel about the art style either. But, still could be good.
Mushikaburi-hime – Seems like a pretty romantic series, just not sure if I’d enjoy it personally. As such, honorable mention.
Renai Flops – On the surface, it seems like a rom-com harem series. But the tagline and the cover art leads me to believe there’s something darker lurking here. Got some warning flags going off in my head for this one, but still curious.
Futoku no Guild – Okay, my fellow degenerates. This is already my vote for the dirtiest anime this season. I read one chapter of the manga and I already suspect it’ll be heavily censored (or just completely depart from how the manga handled it). I’m hoping the comedy aspect is good.
C Danchi – Bit of a departure from my usual stuff, but looks like a pretty creepy horror series (and perfect timing, with Halloween coming up!). I’ve heard it’s only going to be four episodes though, so will be a short and sweet (or scary?) series.
Okay, that’s all I’ve got for this season. Yep. To all you people saying “What about Chainsaw Man and Bleach?”, I left them off intentionally. Knowing where Chainsaw Man is going is a bit of a turn-off for me, and I personally don’t care about Bleach. That being said, if these ARE your jam, then you probably already know about it and don’t need me to comment on it. All righty then, see you in the next post.
