Another season, another collection of new anime. Just like for winter, I’ll discuss the anime that I’m most interested in checking out. And hey, this time I’m releasing this post on time! Woo! … Well, forget about that, it’s ages in the past now. We got a lot this time, so let’s get to it.
Isekai Maou to Shoukan Shoujo no Dorei Majutsu Ω

If its presence on my recent isekai manga list wasn’t indicative, I quite enjoy this series, and am excited for season 2. The animation quality of season 1 was solid an the plot was faithful to the manga, and I hope season 2 continues this trend.
Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san

This series looks like it can be a pretty cute series (albeit in a bit of an odd way). Girls picking on the boy they like is a pretty well-known trope, though I can’t remember the last time I saw it in an anime. I’m excited to see this relationship unfold and develop.
Fruits Basket: The Final

Fruits Basket has quite a following, garnering it love from many fans. Being the last season in such a beloved series, it’s a must watch if you’ve been keeping up with it. I’m just hoping for a happy ending.
SSSS.Dynazenon

I enjoyed SSSS.Gridman quite a bit. More than I would have expected, honestly. As such, I’m hype for this follow-up series. Even if you’re not really into kaiju, such as myself, the plot is pretty good on its own, so don’t knock it before you try it.
Shadows House

When I saw this series pop up in the list, I immediately thought that this one had potential. I really dig the combination of cute art style with the dark aesthetics, similar to CloverWorks’ The Promised Neverland. I can’t wait to see where the plot for this one goes.
Jouran: The Princess of Snow and Blood

I’ve always really enjoyed the Edo period, so I was drawn to this one. Sure, moe anime are some of my favorites, but some badassery is good too. Based on the trailer, it seems like this will be a pretty deep series with some excellent action sequences. That being said, all I have to go on right now is the trailer, and we all know those can be misleading, but I will hold out hope that this one delivers.
Odd Taxi

Odd Taxi piqued my interest due to how incredibly weird it seems. Based on the synopsis alone, there’s clearly an interesting plot under that weird premise. It certainly did a good job of teasing something interesting. Now I NEED to know what the hell is going on here.
Subarashiki Kono Sekai The Animation

Likely better known in the States by its English title, The World Ends with You, the anime adaptation of this game is probably the one I’m most interested in checking out this season. Like, the game was great (seriously, if you haven’t played it, go try it out!). My concern here, however, is that adaptations of games rarely go well, though anime tend to do better than movie adaptations. I do love that they seem to be keeping the art style from the game. I just really hope that they do the game justice.
So, those are the series I picked as the anime I’m most looking forward to this season. It was hard to keep this list from being too crazy long, but I will add a few honorable mentions here. Mars Red seems like it could be interesting (I usually enjoy vampire anime), but the combo of vampire and military just makes me think about Hellsing. Osananajimi ga Zettai ni Makenai Love Comedy could be a good school harem anime, but those tend to be hit or miss for me. While I enjoy them generally, drama tends to ensue in love triangles, and call me a wimp but I have a hard time dealing with that. Finally, Kyuukyoku Shinka shita Full Drive RPG ga Genjitsu yori mo Kusoge Dattara. Did I really just put another one of those virtual reality RPG series on my list? Yeah, but as used of a trope as this may be, I don’t think you can just discount a series for it. It does seem to approach it from a different angle than a series like Sword Art Online, so I’m willing to give it a fair shot.
I’m sure I could keep going on and on here, but I’m just going to stop myself before it gets out of control. Let’s hope for an awesome anime season this spring. Oh! I almost forgot. Perhaps the best series coming this season:
Dinosaur Biyori

Yep. And now, with ZERO explanation, I’ll see you in the next post. Later!
