Upcoming fall anime.

Awesome Upcoming Anime in the Fall 2021 Season

As we enter my favorite season, we get a whole new set of anime. This fall, I’m excited for a bunch of anime. A lot of these are ones I’ve been reading for a while now, so this should prove to be awesome.

Mushoku Tensei, 2nd Season

Mushoku Tensei season 2 has me super excited.

If you saw my list of winter anime from this year, this entry should be no surprise. The first season was exceptional, and I expect them to continue the high quality and excellent story. Honestly, this second part should be better than the first due to where it is in the story and what is happening. As such, if you felt season 1 was a bit slow, don’t let that discourage you from watching this second season. Trust me, this series is incredible.

Shin no Nakama ja Nai to Yuusha no Party wo Oidasareta node, Henkyou de Slow Life suru Koto ni Shimashita

This anime, whose title is FAR too long, is tremendously good, and I look forward to it.

Man, felt like I was writing a book with that title. There’s a few different translations, but I’ve settled on I Was Kicked Out of the Hero’s Party Because I Wasn’t a True Companion, so I Decided to Have a Slow Life at the Frontier. Pretty much sums up the premise, but the series is a lot more than that. It has the feel of a slice of life anime, but there’s more going on behind the scenes which keep it intriguing. And it’s got one of the most moe of female leads ever, so definitely a must-watch in my book. I highly recommend this anime.

Shinka no Mi: Shiranai Uchi ni Kachigumi Jinsei

Just a taste of the shenanigans you get with Shinka no Mi.

Shinka no Mi has a lot of the usual isekai tropes, but doesn’t take itself too seriously. It has an enjoyable story, mixed well with silly comedy. I chose this image intentionally, and you’ll understand when you meet the character. If you like romantic comedy with your isekai (emphasis on the comedy!), this will be right up your alley.

Lupin III: Part 6

Lupin III is incredibly good, even if it's not quite my genre. Just a testament to how good it is.

Some may find it surprising to see Lupin on this list, especially knowing my usual taste in anime. Lupin III was something I watched on a whim once and was immediately astounded with how good it was. Not something I expected to enjoy, not really my genre, but this series has been running for so long for a reason. It’s almost like with Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, it’s just one of those things you watch and inexplicably get hooked.

Sekai Saikou no Ansatsusha, Isekai Kizoku ni Tensei suru

An isekai about an assassin. Bit different than the usual.

From what I’ve read thus far, The World’s Best Assassin, Reincarnated in a Different World as an Aristocrat is definitely on the more serious side. It’s not as grim as some anime I’ve seen, for sure, but not as light-hearted as some of the others on this list. But, if you like the idea of the hero being a hired killer, should be a good anime.

Komi-san wa, Comyushou desu.

Komi-san Can't Communicate looks like it could be adorable and hilarious.

Not an isekai, I know, but I like to mix in some other genres from time to time that I think could be good. Komi Can’t Communicate looks to be a comedy, with some romantic undertones. If that proves to be the case, it could be like Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san, and take the award for cute anime of the season. As such, I’ll check it out, and would recommend any other rom-com lovers to do so too.

Saihate no Paladin

Not sure how Saihate no Paladin will be, but could be a very good soul-searching anime.

This one could go either way for me. It certainly has an intriguing premise, a living child being raised by undead. Like, why is he there, a small child in the city of the dead? It seems to be a series that focuses on emotional growth and adventure. I’m cautiously optimistic about how this will work out, so I put it on the list. Let’s hope for a great series.

Honorable Mentions

Not a lot of these this time. I could put a few movies on here, but they’re all pretty specific to followers of given anime, such as the Sword Art Online movie.

Isekai Shokudou 2 – If you enjoyed season 1 of Restaurant to Another World, then this should be on your list. Not much else to say here.

Shuumatsu no Harem – While I’m usually a fan of harem, this one is almost too overt. Most men are dead, and now a small handful that survived are expected to repopulate the planet. Yeah… I’ve read it a bit, there’s a bit more to the story when you look at the protagonist’s motivations. Honestly, I’m just curious how the hell they’ll make this okay for TV. Like, the manga is pretty… umm… mature.

And there we go. All the anime I’m anticipating this upcoming season. So many of these upcoming isekai anime have me excited. Overall, as we wrap up 2021, it’s been a great year for isekai anime, and it’s finishing the year strong.

What anime are you most looking forward to? Let me know down in the comments and I’ll see you in the next one!
